General

These general terms and conditions are valid from the date of registration via the website or email for weekly lessons subscription and single lessons. The customer hereby agrees to pay the invoices for the lessons taken with Javier Valdi.

Trial lessons

The trial lesson is a single 45-minute, one-to-one session, priced at €30, booked at a time slot shown as available on the calendar.

The trial lesson is deducted from your first month: your €30 trial fee is credited toward your first monthly payment (or toward your first invoice). If you decide not to continue after the trial, you will only be charged the €30 trial fee.

Weekly lessons (subscription)

Once music lessons have commenced, they will automatically continue until the moment the client indicates they wish to stop the lessons (see Cancellation). A one-month notice period is taken into account in this regard.

The weekly plan is €45 per lesson, for 40 lessons of 45 minutes per year, billed in 11 equal monthly payments from September to July (there is no payment in August).

If, because of the calendar (such as public holidays), fewer than 40 lessons take place during the course, the missing lessons can be rescheduled at the end of the course; any that are not rescheduled will be refunded at €45 per lesson.

Single lessons

Single lessons are €75 per 60-minute session, paid individually with no subscription attached.

Payment

The weekly plan can be paid monthly by automatic direct debit (the default), as one invoice for the full year, or as two invoices per year. Invoices will be sent via email after the start of the lessons, which must be paid within one month (a €5 administration fee applies per invoice).

In the event of a single late payment, you will be contacted. Repeated late or missed payments may result in the termination of music lessons and/or the charging of administrative fees.

VAT

All prices shown are exclusive of VAT. VAT is applied at checkout for students aged 21 or over who are residents of the Netherlands, in line with Dutch tax rules for private tuition.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling a lesson requires at least 24 hours’ notice; lessons cancelled with less notice are charged in full and are not rescheduled. For the weekly plan, up to 2 rescheduled lessons per year are available when the student notifies at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson.

Lessons that need to be rescheduled must be completed within the same academic year, reasonably and within the possibilities suggested by the teachers.

In the absence of the regular teacher, a substitute teacher with comparable skills and knowledge will be assigned. If this is not possible, the lesson will be rescheduled at a time to be agreed upon with the teacher.

Cancellation

For weekly lessons, a one-month notice period applies. The final month of lessons commences on the first day of the month following the month of cancellation. This is also the final month to be charged.

Example: Cancelling on February 20th means that the lessons must be attended through the end of March.

For invoices, early cancellation is not possible and no refund will be given for the remaining months.

Trial and single lessons booked online

Booking a trial or single lesson on this site places the lesson directly in Javier’s calendar and sends you a calendar invitation. Payment is arranged directly with Javier, before or at the lesson.

To change or cancel an online booking, email at least 24 hours before the lesson. Lessons cancelled with less notice may be charged.
